Safety for a Growing Community

As our city grows, we must ensure that our commitment to community safety grows with it. The well-being of our community and its citizens is a core responsibility that cannot be compromised by growth. My platform is built on ensuring our city's budget adequately funds and staffs our essential services—police, fire, public works department, city engineers, emergency management etc. —so they can effectively serve us now and into the future.  We have a chance to get ahead of these challenges by proactively addressing them.

 

I will make community safety a top priority. I will push for safer roads, well-marked cross walks, clear traffic signage, and well-lit streets - ensuring every new development and improvement protects our residents and strengthens our neighborhoods.

 

If elected to the City Council, I pledge to reject any proposal that compromises the critical public safety services our city requires. Let's work together to ensure our community remains a safe place to live, work and raise a family.

 

Commitment to Fiscal Responsibility 

If elected to City Council, I will make it my mission to ensure that our city’s financial future is built on a foundation of responsible, disciplined, and sustainable budgeting. My promise to you is to keep a vigilant eye on city taxes, ensuring they remain in check. I will not support property tax increases as a default solution to address budget shortfalls. Our community deserves elected officials who are committed to sound fiscal management, not easy fixes that burden taxpayers.

 

My professional background has equipped me with the skills necessary to deliver on this promise. With a career spanning roles in Accounting, Finance and managing multi-million dollar capital projects,  I understand the importance of transparency and accountability. For years, I have worked solving complex financial and operational problems with executive leadership. I know how to navigate bureaucracy, remove roadblocks, and get things done efficiently.

 

This experience has taught me that meeting critical deadlines, staying on budget and delivering on commitments is truly about smart planning and disciplined execution. I will apply this same rigorous approach working closely with our city’s finance director, ensuring every dollar is used wisely to serve our community's needs. Together, we can build a more transparent and financially secure future for our city.

Managing Thoughtful Growth

My family has proudly called Duvall home for over 22 years. Like many of you, I've witnessed our city's rapid growth. While growth is inevitable, I am committed to ensuring it remains thoughtful and purposeful - never at the expense of the small-town charm and unique character that make Duvall such a special place to call home. There truly is no other city like ours, and if elected, I will do everything in my power to keep it that way: safe, welcoming, and vibrant. To achieve this, we must have the right infrastructure and careful planning in place to support growth in a way that benefits our community. 

 

I am currently a member of the Duvall Planning Commission (eff. January '25) and previously a member of the 2024 Duvall City Steering Committee. These roles have given me firsthand insight into how our dedicated city staff work to uphold Duvall's Municipal Codes - standards essential to protecting Duvall's charm and character. I am proud to have contributed to the 2024 Comprehensive Plan, a roadmap for the city's growth, development, and land use policies over the next 20 years. It addresses key aspects, including housing, transportation, economic development, environmental sustainability, and community amenities - all while preserving our small-town identity. With hard work and careful decisions, I believe together we can safeguard Duvall's unique spirit for generations to come.
